Background Information - Latest romance manuscript

This is another song that I listened to on my MP3 player this time and was enthralled with.  I loved the lyrics...they spoke to me.  I've included the lyrics to Survivor's song 'The Search is Over' below the drafted synopsis of "THE GIRL NEXT DOOR".  Here was a story that I just had to tell.

ORIGIN - THE GIRL NEXT DOOR

New novel in the works on the Bookshelf...

How many more of Mitch's crash and burn stories detailing his failed attempts at finding the perfect girl for him would Natalie have to endure?

It seemed as though Natalie Porter had loved Mitch Williams since they first met back when they both were in the 11th grade at Washington High School.

She offered and helped him with their Trigonometry class and Mitch offered and helped her with their American History class.  Their budding friendship grew and grew as the years progressed, even through their college years.  But to Natalie's dismay, their relationship never crossed over from just being friends.  Even though now, ten years later they were best friends...Natalie had always hoped for more.

However after ten years, she's resigned to the fact that they'll never be more than friends and it was high time for her to somehow squelch her love for Mitch and try to find someone else to love.

Mitch felt so lucky to have had someone like Natalie in his life for the past 10 years.  How else would he have withstood all the wrong choices in females he managed to make during that time.  Eventually the right woman would cross his path and he wouldn't be so ready to get rid of her after dating for only a few short months.

Now though, as he reflects back on the past ten years and how Natalie had always been there for him, Mitch starts to wonder maybe there was something more going on here between he and Natalie than mere friendship.

Could she really be the one for him after all this time?  Could he convince Natalie that his feelings for her went deeper?  Could Natalie be more than just the girl next door?

The Search is Over - song by group - Survivor

How can I convince you what you see is real

Who am I to blame you for doubting what you feel

I was always reachin', you were just a girl I knew

I took for granted the friend I have in you

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment

Taking on the world, that was just my style

Now I look into your eyes

I can see forever, the search is over

You were with me all the while

Can we last forever, will we fall apart

At times it's so confusing, these questions of the heart

You followed me through changes and patiently you'd wait

Til I came to my senses through some miracle of fate

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment

Taking on the world, that was just my style

Now I look into your eyes

I can see forever, the search is over

You were with me all the while

Now the miles stretch out behind me

Loves that I have lost

Broken hearts lie victims of the game

Then good luck it finally struck

Like lightning from the blue

Every highway leading me back to you

Now at last I hold you, now all is said and done

The search has come full circle

Our destinies are one

So if you ever loved me

Show me that you give a damn

You'll know for certain

The man I really am

I was living for a dream, loving for a moment

Taking on the world, that was just my style

Then I touched your hand, I could hear you whisper

The search is over, love was right before my eye...
