God's Promises...

Posted by vking on March 31, 2015 at 6:05 AM

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not on thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.  Proverbs 3:5-6

Welcome to Tuesday...the last day of March!

OK, so normally I write these on the night before...however last night, I ran out of time because of my normal Monday commitment.  I didn't really think I would do a blog this time, but as I was riding my stationary bike the Lord put some thoughts in my head.  And, when the Lord does that, I abide by them.

Society has certain 'rules' that we must follow and if we don't we suffer the consequences.  For instance, when there are road blocks, signs, etc. posted telling drivers not to go forward...drivers need to abide by them, unless they are willing to suffer the consequences...road out, no bridge, whatever.  Even in sports, there are rules telling the players what to do and what not to do.  When players do them anyway, they get penalized.

We shouldn't be surprised when these 'consequences' happen.  We fail to adhere to the rules in place.

God's word has 'rules', but I prefer to look at them as 'promises'.  The bible is full of them.  We need to read them, learn them, believe them.  They are there for a purpose.  My favorite promise is Proverbs 3:5-6, which is the opening verse to this blog.  I am sure you have your own favorite promise that gets you through your days, especially the rough ones where you are struggling just to 'stay in the game'.   But, you go by them because you know God will do just what He says He is going to do.  He's good for it.  We trust Him to keep us going, no matter what obstacles stand in our way...God is going to get us through it.

I am sending this blog to almost fifty of you and I would really love it if you would write back and share with me your favorite promise(s) from God are.  What promise gets you through the rough side of the mountain?  What promise gets you through that dark tunnel when you don't see the light?  What promise helps you to endure the excruciating pain from your body?

Talk to me...

Have a blessed Tuesday!
