Therefore thou art inexcusable, judgest; for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. Romans 2:1
Sorry...I missed Wednesday's blog entry because I spent a good portion of my evening with my daughter and grandson. Although, I did read the next chapter in Romans. But as you can see, I didn't get very far before a verse popped out at me!
Judging others....Read Full Post »

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
My weekend went so quickly that I didn't have time to prepare my Monday morning blog entry. It also doesn't help that I have started retiring a little bit earlier than before. So, that just means I have to work on my time management so I am able to prepare these bl...Read Full Post »

When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he makes even his enemies live at peace with him. Proverbs 16:7 (NIV)
Welcome to Tuesday! It is hot, hot, hot here in Cleveland! Thank you Lord for the blessing of central air. That means I can sit here at my computer and still produce a blog entry. We're just going to try to ignore the hot flashes...which seem to come even if the air is blowing high on me. What are you going to do?
The open...Read Full Post »

For a man's ways are in full view of the Lord, and he examines all his paths. Proverbs 5:21 (NIV)
Happy TGIF! I'm sure it would have been so much better if I could've taken today off and enjoy a four day weekend. But sometimes that is not a possibility. However, like I said previously...I do get to work from home. That makes things a whole lot easier...no commuting...can start working a bit earlier than normal.
I am extremely t...Read Full Post »

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold. Proverbs 3:13,14 (KJV)
Welcome to Day 3 of our Journey Through the Book of Proverbs! Happy Wednesday!
The following verses used to be the only verses of God's word that 'spoke' to me...
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not un...Read Full Post »

...but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm. Proverbs 1:33 (NIV)
Welcome to the month of July! We will be re-visiting the Journey Through the Book of Proverbs, one for each of the days in July.
The great thing about the bible to me is that every time I read it, I see something else than the last time I might have read that specific passage. The prevailing message from many of the Proverbs seems to be gain...Read Full Post »

Happy TGIF! The weekend is upon us again! WooHoo! I am extremely happy about that...although I do have a somewhat busy weekend planned, but it will be things that I enjoy doing. And Sunday, I do announcements for my church and I sing in the choir. I love doing b...Read Full Post »

Hello Victoria's Bookshelf readers! Welcome to Day 4...let's start with God's word first today:
I am laid low in the dust; preserve my life according to your word.
I recounted my ways and you answered me; teach me your decrees.
Let me understand the teaching of your precepts; then I will meditate on your wonders.
My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word.Read Full Post »

Hello everyone! This is Day 2 of Journey Through Psalms chapter 119.
How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

With my lips I recount al...Read Full Post »

Happy Monday! Happy 1st Day of October! Can you believe it's already October? I can't! I've been doing these AIM blog entries since June 19th. I am now up to at least twelve people who receive these once they're published and actually incorporate them into their morning routines. That is so awesome! You don't know how great that makes me feel! And although I do wholeheartedly appreciate your support and encouragement...to God be the glory, becau...Read Full Post »

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31: 10, 31 (KJV)
This is the last proverb and I am ever so thankful for all my readers who stuck with me through this magnificent journey! It has truly been a tremendous spiritual education and awakening to take you on this journey. However of all the chapters in Proverbs, thi...Read Full Post »

Every word of God is pure; he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Proverbs 30:5 (NIV)
Do you have the ability to move forward when something unforeseen or terrible happens? Maybe 60% of the time or at best 75 - 80% of the time? With God's word in your heart and head, He will give you the ability and strength to move forward...to bounce back...100% of the time.
I think there was a commercial back in my day about Ivory soap being 99% pure...Read Full Post »

If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink; For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee. Proverbs 25:21, 22 (KJV)
Sometimes, one of the hardest things in the world for me to do is to be helpful to someone who has been mean or spiteful in one way or another to me. If not for God's grace, mercy and his guarding of my lips...I'd be so ready to bite someone back eve...Read Full Post »

A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1 (KJV)
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet." That's from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet as I am sure all of you know.
What do people think or say about you when you're not around? Take the work environment...for instance. Do you have the type of position where you may have to work with ...Read Full Post »

Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)
Raising my children was also a lesson in how to's for parenting, because prior to my children coming on the scene, I never did much, or rather anything with anybody's children. I never babysat nieces or nephews or any neighborhood children younger than me.
So, I was learning what to do with babies and children as I was raising my two. My referen...Read Full Post »

Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21 (NIV)
Some people look at strange, unbelievable instances that happen in their lives as being lucky or coincidental. I look at those same occurrences as God-cidences...God's plan for my life and my family's lives. I may not understand why certain things happen or don't happen at particular moments of my life, but then when I look back at the series of events...Read Full Post »
